Project Introduction
As a flagship initiative of the "Uraan Pakistan" program, the JMC is a national priority project under the direct supervision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. It is tasked with addressing the healthcare resource shortage in Islamabad, where the population has grown fivefold over the past 40 years.
The project is located on a 70-acre core site in the H-16 district, with a first-phase total construction area of approximately 300,000 m². Situated near the airport and major highways, its core positioning integrates "medical care, education, research, rehabilitation, and community service." With a planned capacity of 1,200 inpatient beds, the project aims to establish a regional and international medical hub to improve local healthcare conditions.

The design utilizes a Center of Excellence (COE) approach to optimize the architectural layout. Ten specialized centers are organized into three major clusters—Emergency Medicine, Oncology & Transplantation, and Maternal & Child Health—arranged logically from high to low medical intensity. Independent drop-off areas ensure convenient access, while the close integration of medical technology and inpatient wards reduces transit distances. A north-south "medical street" connects the entire campus, clearly demarcating outpatient and inpatient functions to ensure organized and efficient service delivery.
The design integrates green ecology with functional requirements, featuring rooftop gardens and courtyard landscapes. An "axis and branch" structure efficiently manages functional flows, strictly implementing the separation of pedestrians and vehicles as well as clean and soiled materials. Equipped with intelligent energy, water, and waste management systems, the project aims for LEED Silver certification to create a safe and sustainable medical campus.

The project has received high recognition from the Pakistani government and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Prime Minister affirmed HK Aohua Medical Group’s professional medical planning and expressed satisfaction with the green initiatives, including solar energy applications, efficient natural light utilization, and water recycling optimization.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized that the world-class design provided by HK Aohua Medical Group reflects the cooperation and ties between China and Pakistan. On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, he expressed his appreciation to the design team, noting that this expertise will contribute significantly to Pakistan's healthcare system and the recovery of its patients for decades to come.
